This is what I got from my guy at Merrill. Only problem is that the shares seem to have stopped trading already

This is what I discovered from my call to Celltech in the UK (spoke to Richard Bungay 011-44-1753-534-655):
the deal is completed, subject to adjustment for Cistron's receivables, the exchange agent will issue letters to shareholders next week, and Mr Bungay, thinks by the time they get the letters back (I'm assuming I will get your letter) the new shares will be issued in 2 1/2-3 weeks.
Either way the day CIST stops trading will designate the day the shares trade as CLL. I will be watching.

Hope this helps. Will try to get more clarification on the "stops trading" question.
