a friend of mine used a very experimental leukemia drug: the doctor let her know it could kill her and would only be used for two weeks. She had to be in isolation because it damages the immune system so thoroughly.
It cured her leukemia. That was two years ago. She is fine and has not had any recurrence of the disease. The doctor stopped the treatment after 11 days because she was dying.
But it worked anyway.
