Well if your shmata friends are doing such a thing and they are a public company then they'd better get some good lawyers because they're gonna have one hell of a shareholder lawsuit. Better yet, tell them not to bother with the lawyer.. just pay da money.

I can assure you that CSCO doesn't adjust inventory to improve earnings. To suggest that they do is simply ridiculous... they do get audited you know. Raw materials inventory is a tough thing to simply make up. Do you think CSCO would risk their business on such nonesense? Get real.
