Snake: Unlike you, I don't know anyone in jail right now. However, I think it's a splendid idea to try to rehabilitate men and women behind bars by giving them a good dose of civics. Perhaps if more of them vote and take an active role in national and local elections, they will become more responsible to society.

I had to work an early shift today. Just got done voting. Looked for the rooster and voted the straight ticket. I understand that in some of the rich Republican suburbs, people are bitching big-time. One guy called the local right-wing radio talk show just a short while ago and said only one voting machine was set up where he voted, and people are having to stand in line for an hour or more. As a result, many people are leaving without voting. I don't think we can blame the Democrats on this one, though, because those precincts always have had just one machine. It took me all of 20 seconds to vote because I studied the issues ahead of time and knew which candidate was for the common working man and which candidate wasn't. A lot of dumb bunnies, mostly Republicans, feel they have to memorize the choices before voting.
