I wonder if it's possible that IBM threw this news out days before the IPO as a ploy to increase their negotiation leverage with Transmeta.

I find it odd that IBM would publicize this when they are one of the producers of the chips.
It doesn't make sense, unless they are looking for a better deal.

...unless Intel gave them a sweetheart deal with their processors...

Either way, the message it is sending me is that Transmeta must have a threatening product.
Otherwise, I don't think they would have gotten punched while their hands were tied behind their backs.

I'm looking forward to the end of the quiet period.

More so, I'm looking forward to COMDEX.

I'm guessing that it will be at COMDEX, where Transmeta will be dispayed as the future giant they will be.
