Trader, I can still remember attending a rally in downtown Minneapolis when Hubert Humphrey returned from the 1948 convention in Philadelphia. That was the year Humphrey raised hell about civil rights at the convention and the southern delegations walked out and formed the Dixiecrats. I was 11 years old at the time. My father was active in the Humphrey for Senate campaign that year.
