The bank which put up the money wants reassurance on the price side. This is, surely, commercial prudence with no sinister connatotions? What security would you suggest for the loan - other than the mine itself? and what would the mine be worth with unhedged production and a falling POG?

Ensign wins Senate seat; Rep. Berkley re-elected
Gibbons retains U.S. House post

REVIEW-JOURNAL

Veterinarian John Ensign became heir to the seat of one of Nevada's most popular senators Tuesday by easily defeating attorney Ed Bernstein, while U.S. Rep. Shelley Berkley held off an aggressive challenge from state Sen. Jon Porter.

Republican Ensign led his Democratic opponent in the race for U.S. Senate 55 percent to 40 percent with most of the votes tallied. Democrat Berkley defeated Porter, a Henderson Republican, 52 percent to 44 percent in the 1st Congressional District race that tightened in the campaign's last days after Berkley enjoyed double-digit leads for several months. As expected, Rep. Jim Gibbons cruised to a third term in the 2nd Congressional District over teacher Tierney Cahill. Late returns had Gibbons, R-Nev., with 64 percent of the vote compared with 30 percent for Cahill, a Democrat. (cont)
