Yeah pretty weird, eh? Unfortunately, the Voter News Service is an alliance of media corporations. Area networks conduct exit polls but only share the info amonst themselves (on a nationwide basis), to help shape the election coverage (gives them clues about where to place their resources). Lack of publication goes back to their agreement not to influence the electoral process (on the left coast) by the early release of information from the east coast.

Michael Medved said the exit polls were alarmingly close and the margin was certainly less than 5%.
