Jerry better be a spin doctor this Thursday, or my shares will be even further under water than they already are (about 50% of my shares). Such is life.

Dave,

I hope so...but I don't think he can. I think a lot of the analysts believe that AMD made its progress the past year and half only because they now think that Intel was sleeping. And with Intel at least making the appearance of executing the right moves, they are fearful of upping their 2001 projections for AMD.

I think the best thing that could happen is that the final benchmarks come out for P4...making it very clear where AMD and Intel stand regarding the chip race.....the street hates uncertainity or a lack of clarity...if that uncertainity can be resolved, I think it would make a difference.

5dave22:

"Yup. And the fact that AMD is going thru a questionable quarter with Duron support problems is why no one is in any kind of a rush to buy this stock (especially big money). I doubt AMD will make it out of the $20s until three or four months into next year (unless it's to the downside)."

Comment: Let's see what happens the rest of the week!!! Have a sense that Mr. Sanders is looking forward to both Thursday's Comdex show and tell display and the Thursday conference call...Last I heard AMD was projecting 8 to 9 million microprocessors in Q4...My guess is they're on target and I'd also guess that December shipments of 1.2 gig Athys/DDR combos will generously assist Q4 revenue and earnings growth...If so, shouldn't have to wait those 3 or 4 months to recoup lost ground...
