i agree to some extent, but i still maintain that all manipulative activity, if it is trying to go against a new primary trend is ultimately doomed to fail. if it succeeds beyond short time frames, no new primary trend has begun.
best example for this is Taiwan, where the government, with virtually unlimited funds at its disposal, is trying to stem a decline for about 3,500 index points now, without any tangible success to date lasting beyond a few days.
you are assuming that by stemming a potential decline in CSCO on a single day, on volume of almost 100 million shares, CSCO has ceased to be a 'problem child'. that may not be true. especially as lately, there seem to be so many holes in the dyke.

speaking of holes in the dyke, DhELL seems close to shorting territory again, chart-wise. just built yet another text book bear flag, and is nearing resistance (previous support) at 35.
