Alcatel asserts the place of 2nd world in optics PARIS (Reuters) - the chairman of Alcatel, Serge Tchuruk, declared that its group should carry out this year a turnover of about 7 billion euros in optics, which classifies it with the second world rank of this speciality behind Nortel. Intervening at the time of the show Networld Interop, it stressed that Alcatel had succeeded in exceeding its statute of specialist in the voice to become " one of large world of the Internet ", in particular in the sector of the broad band access.
