Limtex, FLSH's departure from their embedded storage products...

...is an undeniable vote of confidence for SanDisk's vision.

M-Systems has clearly strayed from their original business model by entering the removable storage market. And all along SanDisk detractors have been making the case that embedded (one-time) storage will obsolete flash memory cards.

How do they explain FLSH's change of heart?

I don't understand how yet another removable storage standard can hope to capture anything more than a niche or table scraps that the other established standards leave behind.

Limtex, one of my favorite CompactFlash uses...

...is to do a Powerpoint presentation on my PC, copy it to my CompactFlash card and take it to work in a PCMCIA sleeve.

It beats carrying a notebook around by a long shot.

Now if only desktops had standard PCMCIA slots like laptops!
