I look at a map and see most of the country going Bush. So Gore wins with CA., Fla., and a few Northeastern states? Hardly a mandate! When Gore takes Ca is it all over or does Bush still have a chance in the electoral college?

Unfortunately it looks that way - Gore has won all of the major battleground states so far. He's projected by ABC and NBC to have 198 electoral votes. Add California's 54 and he only needs 18 elsewhere.

Whoops CNN just put Florida back into the undecided column so now Gore only has 167 in CNN's count.
