I came up with a theory that the dems didn't want to win this one for the very specific reason that the reps would have to clean up the economic mess and the dems would get the next election. I missed on a few things, especially in light of how close the election is.

Lee - or anyone who cares to comment. If the Republicans win both the Presidency & the Senate would this be regarded as a negative for the market ?. I'm somewhat confused, but as far as the market was concerned I kinda had the following

Bush - Democrats - good for the market ST & LT
Bush - Republicans - bad for market ST & LT
Gore - Republicans - bad for market ST, good LT
Gore - Democrats - bad for market ST & LT

Apologies for my ignorance ...limey and all that ....

TIA

Stephen

Lee, I agree with your analysis. Although it has not always been true. I am of the opinion that Reagan's deficits hurt us a lot. But I'm too tired to get out the jsutifications at the moment. 20K votes in Florida. I have to tell you: I don't like this. It's just too close. A more decisive win would be better.

Till later!
