Rebalancing portfolios is often a lost art, falling victim to the "let it ride" school for some successful investors. Unfortunately, success may skew not just concentration of risk, but overall portfolio risk.

One useful tool in evaluating portfolio risk is a free site called riskmetrics. Load and save your holdings (equities, funds, and cash) to derive a beta specific to your situation. You can increase or decrease specific securities, and compare the beta of one fund to another if you choose.
