"Here's some more "good timing" !!"
No doubt about it, Intel is turning into one of the greatest Mutual Funds.

re: < Here's some more "good timing" !!
Intel sold 170,000 shares of GlobeSpan last Friday - November 3 - before today's $17 price drop !!!

...

Of note, a Form 144 only shows a filer's intent to sell the shares. Actual verification of the sales, if and when they occur, would be provided in a subsequent filing.

Thanks for posting it. Coincidentally, I started checking on some interesting internut stock holdings of Intel Capital just to gauge the health of Intel capital.

GSPN sale by Intel is not reported by Yahoo (other sales that took place on Nov 3 & 4 were reported) - so the GSPN sale didn't take place yet.

Now let's look at GSPN with respect to the Intel Capital gains's Sep 30 snapshot -

- Intel holds 2,692,205 shares of GSPN.

- GSPN closed at $129/share on Sept 29, 00!

- Currently GSPN is trading at about $54!

- This represents a whopping reduction of about $202 Millions
unrealized capital gains from that reported in Intel's Q3'00
earnings report - just from GSPN holding. I think Intel's unrealized
capital gains are in much more trouble than I originally thought

I haven't completed my data collection on Intel Capital's holdings in internut stocks yet, but here are the ones that I compiled so far:

Some of the Intel's strategic(hehe...) Internet investments:

1. etoys.com (etys) Intel owns 7,568,300 shares. Sep 29 price: $5.3438

Current price: $2.50 - a net reduction of about $22 Millions
from the unrealized gains reported in Q3'00 earnings report.

This stock is not going to recover any time soon! May even
even be insolvent soon.

2. esoft (esft) Intel holds 666,666 shares. Sept 29 price: $5.875.

Current price: $3.

This represents a net reduction of about $1.9 Millions from the
unrealized gains reported in Q3'00 earnings report.

Transactions reported by Intel in the last week:
-----------------------------------------------

Nuance Communications
Inc(NasdaqNM:NUAN)

Intel ownership - 522,800 shares sept 29 quote: $121.69

Estimated proceeds
------------------
Nov 2 - proposed sale 15,000 shares - $1,325,501 $86.75/share
Nov 1 - proposed sale 37,500 shares - $3,238,939 $86.75/share
------- -----------
52,000 $4,564,430
------- -----------

Shares left: 470,800 Current Price: $117 3/4

Any comment on timing of this sale by Intel?
