There is no stopping the lunacy except when the average person wakes up and realises it is just that. ...lunacy. So whats your real answer? Ban the movie makers?

The gun problem is like the drug problem. "Real" issues aren't being addressed. The players are dealing with the consequences after the fact. It mainly results from a lack of understanding of the situation. Every drug dealer laughs at the way the system is set up. Straight edge people that have never smoked a joint are trying to solve a problem they barely comprehend. Criminals get guns the same way teenagers get alcohal, they find someone that can legaly buy one and compensate them. You can do all the friggen background checks you want and it won't change a damn thing. Maybe they will outlaw them and then stabbings will go up. Much like tough drug enforcement in rural areas has lead to outbreaks of meth. The locals can't figure out where to get coke or weed and people want to get f*cked up. They can buy what they need to make meth from a hardware store, and they can find out how to cook it over the Internet (this is happening EVERYWHERE in the rural midwest). I myself smoked a joint for the first time on an odd high school night when it was too late to find someone to buy booze, luckily most drug dealers are open for business all the time and they don't care what age you are. Spend billions dealing with the consequences and don't do crap about the problem except put more people in prison.
