Bush wins Florida by 224 votes but Florida law requires a recount when the result is less than .05%. Absentee ballots from overseas have up to 10 days to come in and be counted.

Regardless of who wins this, it has been exciting. For once in 40 years, it appears our vote does count.

dabum3, (OT) New Mexico is still too close to call too. Mssr. Gore leads by 5,000 votes there. There are 98,000 absentee ballots to be counted. New Mexico marks absentee ballots on the outside by party affiliation.

There are 44,000 ballots market "Republican", 40,000 ballots marked "Democratic" and 4,000 marked "Independent".

The Republicans were hurt in SE New Mexico by a heavy duty snowstorm that closed most of the roads. SE New Mexico is nicknamed "Little Texas" and is a Republican stronghold...

Let's see what happens in New Mexico....

The vote nationwide IMO was pretty clearly for a conservative "don't change things too much" course by the next President....

Meanwhile let's get back to the energy/service stocks and making money....
