Ohio was called Republican at about 10pm. Never saw it in dem column. Spoke to a friend in Palm Beach Florida where 3500 votes were recorded for Pat Buchanan. He explained that the ballot confused Gore voters as to which button to push. I didnt fully understand but he said he could have made the same error if he wished to vote for Gore. All but a few of those who made the mistake would have voted for Gore which would have put Florida in the Gore column. With Gore winning the national popular vote and the Florida results possibly winding up in the courts does anyone smell a Constitutional crisis in the making? Does anyone smell electors switching votes so they could get on Oprah? Profiles in Courage or 15 minutes of Fame. And in the end, States get one vote each in January to certify electoral college result, usually rubber stamp, however if electors switch they will have to determine if that is legitimate. So in each state, I believe(not certain), their house delegation + their two senators vote and each state then casts its vote winner take all. Again profiles in courage and Oprah for congressmen who vote their conscience for popular vote winner or electoral vote winner or actual electoral college winner who might be different if some electors switch.
