Mikey, glad you're feeling ill. Don says he has a Swiss residency permit and will use it if the election turns against him. Venom?, reread your post.

I have NO COMMENT on the election other than the following:

1) Bush will prevail in Florida.

2) The voting irregularities are irrelevant. Voter confusion does not equal voter fraud, and there's no way to say how these votes would've been cast (assuming that they weren't cast properly).

3) Had the tables been turned in the electoral college and popular vote, Al Gore would've claimed victory (and rightfully so). His campaign has been saying all night that they thought he could still win the electoral vote without the popular vote.

4) George W. Bush will work quickly to unite the division. He must do so, or he himself will be gone in one term. If he can unite in D.C. like he did here in Texas, he will move the country forward in an unprecedented fashion (well perhaps it has happened before).

5) The electoral college will stand in the future. It is sad for both candidates that it ended this way, but the system works reasonably well, most of the time.

I have nothing to add, other than I think that both candidates fought long and hard. It was obviously a tough choice for America.

I will post again after we have more clarity on Florida.

Regards to all,

LoF
