I guess the Voters News Service has a lot to answer for. Don't all the networks get their numbers from them?

I was watching Fox when they called FL. for Gore. Geraldine Ferraro's weird cackling sent shivers down my spine. Turned it off and read a book. Went to bed at 10:00 and slept like a baby.

Imus said this morning the networks were giving Florida to Gore even though Bush was leading in the votes counted department.

That is not unusual...they called MI to Gore correctly despite Gore trailing in the votes counted. A lot of it has to do with how well the candidate is or is not doing in his/her stronghold presincts already counted too. These are typically very sound calculations, but in a polarized state like FL the standard poll calculations clearly did not work.
