Still getting your exercise railing at D.C. drivers?

Actually, it hasn't been too bad in recent weeks. But wait until winter comes upon us... DC quickly becomes the most dangerous place on earth as soon as an 1" of snow has fallen..

Fortunately they usually close the government down when that happens... <VBG>

As for "gridlock", I used to agree with that until I started finally putting the pieces together with regard to future unfunded liabilities for Social Security and Medicare.

I think gridlock has been responsible for nothing being done to resolve the eventual "train wreck" that will take place.

A SS "lock box" is nothing more than semantics. It is a system of smoke and mirrors that hides the fact that any governmental surplus in the SS trust fund actually increases the total public and private national debt instead of paying off the publicly held debt holders.

That money is being used to increase the size of government, fund pork barrel projects sponsored by both republicans and democrats, and entitlements that will have to be funded for decades. It is money that, although supposed to be "saved" for putting the baby boomers through retirement, will not be there 20 years from now. The current system will require deficit spending like we've never seen before.

No... in this election it is important to end the gridlock and make some structural changes that much overdue. Then we can return to gridlock...
