Well whoever wins, the closeness of the result in both the electoral vote and the popular vote does not constitute a clear mandate for either man. Given that Congress is now almost evenly split as well, moderation will be the name of the game. A result I can live with.

Assuming that VP Gore did get OR and Gov Bush did get FL, and if only a couple of electors decided to change their mind [this is the unlikely part of the equation] based on the popularity vote, they could throw this election still another curve!
