J/A...most ironic that the military would determine the outcome!

"The good news for equity and bond watchers is that there are economic reports that could help persuade the Federal Reserve out of their restrictive bias and move Fed Futures into a higher probability of a rate cut for 2001. Slated for the next two weeks are Producer Price Index (PPI) on Thursday and Consumer Price Index (CPI) on November 16. Conveniently scheduled between these two crucial economic reports will be the FOMC meeting on November 15. The Commodity Research Bureau Index (CR/Y) has declined over four percent the last few weeks while oil prices have stagnated since intervention by OPEC. These two factors may help in containing any further upside progress on the PPI and CPI figures. For market participants, the next two weeks will help foreshadow the bias of the FOMC for the next month, as these upcoming economic reports will be closely scrutinized by the Fed."

<<FLorida is unique with absentees and numerous military bases
this state has the largest number of military bases in the USA
AirForce up in Panhandle
AirForce all over southern peninsula
Navy in Jacksonville
and more

I agree..and also agree we need the electorla method. My point is we have a "flawed system". Still a diamond, but a flawed one. Certain mistakes can and should be avoided that were not. The ballots in south florida should have been clear enough to not cause confusion. Absentee and military votes should be mandated that they arrive by election time, instead of ten days later..simply move the date up ten days. They still get to vote, but we don't have 2000 people leaving 2 billion people up in the air....again, I just think certain things could have been done better. I dont think I am alone....If I am whining right now, then so is most of the rest of the country......I just want this to be over with, and certainly we can work on our system to avoid certain mistakes.
