Stock Operator

Good posting lately.
I'm thinking around 3170ish (compx) should hold, rising trend line for recent rally (daily chart connecting lows). However,
I plan to hold my short positions from last friday until
this friday a.m. when I believe there will be a good chance
for a reversal back upwards.
regards,
Eichler

Thread,

We are now heading into a very dangerous time period. Today's weakness will definitely get the attention of the general public. A public that has been anticipating a strong move up during this seasonal time period (bravo W.S.!). So I am sure many will be sandbagged by the recent weakness. Now that the selling has begun, I believe the center ring will be occupied by the NAZ. Unlike the DOW which ran over a thousand points, the NAZ has remained relatively close to its bottom. Trust me when I say this, I believe the smart money accomplished what they needed during the recent couple of weeks of rising prices. However, this time stocks are breaking down at all the wrong places, such as pushing towards previous monthly lows. The infection is also spreading to other key groups. Goldman Sachs is a key example - rolling over as we speak. Here are three stocks to keep an eye if this selling continues. ALTR (27 5/8) JDSU (62); GS (90 5/8 the low today). If prices break below the stated number to the right (with volume) and continue to punch lower, the Month of November is going to be very ugly. Of course CSCO under 50 would also be an obvious target.

Still, it is important to point out that the lows have not been pierced. But the tone of the selling today tells me that things could happen very fast here.

Good trading.
