Intel had quarterly price cuts, whether they needed them or not, all through the K5 and other dismal for AMD periods. I believe they say price cuts keep stimulating market demand. OTOH, I can tell you about companies that never lowered a price until they had tough competition, namely the old IBM.

And judging from the fire sale prices of AMD's processors, PC's will become even more affordable in the near future!

Are you saying that AMD has now turned into a public service company worthy of a Ralph Nader endorsement?
