Neocon,

I think Hamptons are in New York 1st Congressional District. It was represented by a liberal republican Michael Forbes. He voted along with his party to impeach Clinton. Later he switched to Democrats.

In his first re-election as a Democrat, he faced a primary challenge from left wing Democrat Regina Selzer (probably funded by Baldwins) who defeated Forbes in the primaries.

Here are the results of the general elections:

Felix J. Grucci (REP) : 56%(124063 votes)
Regina Seltzer (DEM) : 40% (89297 votes)
Michael P. Forbes (WOF): 3% (5872 votes)
William G. Holst (GRE) : 1% (2881 votes)

That should make the Hampton crowd happy <g>
