Bush Clings to Narrow Lead Over Gore in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (Reuters) -
Republican George W. Bush clung to a
narrow lead over Democrat Al Gore in
Oregon on Wednesday as vote-counting
passed the 80 percent mark in the only
state to do its balloting by mail. With 81
percent of Oregon"s precincts tallied,
officials said Bush had 48 percent of the
vote, Gore 46 percent and Green Party
candidate Ralph Nader, five percent. They added that the
race was still too close to call.
