Why on earth wouldn't Palm Beach County simply consult its list of people who voted on November 7 and then invite all of those same people to vote again on, for example, November 21? How many millions of dollars and millions of person-hours have gone into this election, just to have the whole thing come down to this ridiculous problem with the ballot? Shouldn't we invest another few thousand dollars to get it right? This is a no-brainer, except for the lawyers and the media. The lawyers want their fees; the media want the entertainment value.

This is such an easily solvable problem, with minimal cost and minimal effort, given the importance of the outcome. I can't believe the officials in Florida are stupid enough to let this embarrassing episode continue. (Of course, all of the decision-makers are Republicans up to the state Supreme Court, which is all Democrats.)
