They just run all over the place, those madcap naughties! I suspect that the reason there will be a discussion of the possibility of raising the age of the rock-throwing battalions is that the world has caught on and finds it as repulsive as I do so the PR value of those small corpses is getting a little shaky. Orthodox Jewish women can leave if they want, and do, in droves, without being hunted down and murdered. If they are raped, they are also not murdered by their father or brothers to the acclaim of their neighbors and with impunity. Jewish women and Muslim women and Christian women all participate in rituals, voluntarily, that are, as you put it, "absurd from my perspective," but I don't critique them because hey, that's their thing. But the Muslim girls who are hunted down and murdered for being raped, or talking with a man in public, are terrified and do not want to die. It is not their thing. I find drawing a parallel between the murdered Muslim girl and the Jewish woman who wears a wig quite inappropriate. However, to repeat: The ability to prevent your daughters from speaking to strangers in contrast with the claimed inability to prevent your sons from stoning them makes the subject relevant. Of course, as I said, the truth is coming out now. They are claiming less routinely these days that they can't stop them. Women like the one running the family planning clinic that isn't getting any business these days are naively telling the real story. Yes, that's an intelligent, reasonable, and good man.
