That could be, but believe it or not, I think people were making a mistake in this county for some reason. I compared the number of votes for Buchanon on a % basis to other areas with similar trends for Bush and Gore and Buchanon clearly got about 2000 votes more than you would expect. My guess is that Gore really would have won Florida if this mistake wasn't made by these particular voters. It's that close.

I think there's too many variables to accurately say "this is what WOULD'VE happened".

The networks called Florida for Gore before voting finished in the panhandle, a traditionally republican part of Florida that happens to be in another time zone. So some republicans may not have voted because they heard Gore had already won. How many votes did that cost Bush? I'm sure there are plenty of other examples in each direction...

So everyone in Palm Beach county is entitled to change their vote because they used punch-cards...but everywhere else they are not?!??
