to NOT trade it until you see how it acts at 9:50 - 10:10

take one step at a time

So, if it gaps up but reverses to the downside during the first reversal period one step at a time for that particular reveral period it is a short establish about 2-3 5-minute bars but when the nq's are not tanking, you need more confirmation, that is the only way to go long or short.

EXCEPTIONS:
IF THE STOCK REVERSES and the NQ's are up, TRIN is down.. and there is an uptrend by 9:50 in the key market indicators as well as the particular stock. These are all established strategies (i.e. see The visual Investor by Murphy, Getting started in Technical Analysis by Schwager, Beginner's Guide to Daytrading Online")

When the stock is DOWN 2 days in ROW on bearish large range bars (each bar is taking out a lower high and lower low and have a larger that 2.5 point range intraday).. and the NQ's are exploding to the upside, everything is trading above fair value and then if you are experienced and have a quick execution system I WOULD BUY THAT BREAKOUT. the risk/reward is high... you have to be prepared to LOSE, but the reward is also high.

it hits the upper resistance band on your chart (5 minute chart, that's important which chart) but fails to break it?... yes... there were some "long plays" mentioned in the last half hour among them CIEN, PMCS, JNPR, MANU, TLGD.. MANU and TLGD seemed better bet as the others did not hold their 'breakouts' because they were just one 'blip' a bear flag reversal in a strongly downtrending stock.

In other words, I assume that just because a stock exhibits weak behavior you won't short it after the 3:00 pm period (EVEN IF IT CONFIRMS THE EARLIER REVERSAL) unless in your estimation it has significant downside. <that is not at all right, it CAN make it easier if it repeats the early reversal session but what you write is the opposite>

So how high would BEAS need to get after 3pm tomorrow before it would make a compelling short for you? $81 or ??
why wait to 3:00 to short or go long BEAS??? just see the morning reversal trend (9:50) and go on from there
