I don't think Florida's Electoral College members are legally obligated to vote for Bush if he wins the popular vote in Florida, but if Bush gets the vote then Florida's electors will be Republicans, so why wouldn't they vote for Bush? I am learning more about the Electoral College than I ever knew. I do know, from having done it, that one of the things you do at the Virginia State Convention is pick the electors - one of Virginia's is a friend of mine, a die-hard, true-blue Republican. I can't imagine a Florida Republican elector voting for anyone but Bush. Not that you said this was a possibility, but I had heard people discussing it.
