hmmm, you may be right. But I don't believe there is a different requirement for non-military vs military absentee votes.

Here's what I've heard...

The state sent out over 30 thousand absentee ballots overseas about 3 weeks ago. In 96 they sent out about the same amount. In 96 only 2300 were received back after the polls closed in the 10 day after polls grace period. As long as they are postmarked prior to the end of election day, they can be counted up to 10 days after the election.

The Secretary of State of Florida predicts about 2-3 thousand votes are left to come in.

So that's where we stand. I haven't heard anything about the Israel voting block. Most of the pundits I've heard are saying 80-90% of votes remaining will come from overseas military personnel.

Given the above assumptions, and the fact that Bush has a lead of about 1300 votes (is that still correct?) He should win the election.

Military votes will no doubt go toward Bush by a least a 60% margin. So unless serious irregularities are found. The race is over for all intensive purposes.

SI MICHAEL CUMMINGS CALLS BUSH THE WINNER IN A REAL SQUEAKER!! :)
