Ah, the lawsuit. Well, he can't stop them from doing it, and it is individuals. If he becomes satisfied with the recount, though, he could make a statement like the gentleman in Missouri did, that he will not only not bring a suit, but will not support one. I thought that was very classy, also. You could see in his face how much the election meant to him. I'm very impressed with Ms. Callahan, though. I think she may turn out to be a marvelous senator. My only concern is that if the margin of victory is a number that would overturned if those votes had gone to Gore, there will a taint to the election. Even if a judge disallows a revote, or Gore convinced them to drop the suit, there would be the lingering knowledge that those votes turned to Gore would change the election. That'd be a double whammy to Bush after coming up behind in the popular vote. The positive possibility I see is that if he is a unifer, this will really drive home to him that he is the President of all the people, not just his those who voted for him. His namesake Washington thought parties were devisive and had nothing to do with them. A president who governed as if he were independent and the voice of all, not a senator or representative for a constituancy, would be a pleasant change after many decades.
