Jim,

The media ran the election up to about 3:45 AM last night

It was obvious to me that the media was milking the "drama" for all it was worth. "Calling states" as necessary to keep it neck-and-neck in the electoral vote.

Jim,

I was so pissed with the popular media last night.. they called florida gore's when bush had a 5% lead with 30% reporting.. ummm... something wrong there.. Hell even michigan was close till around 1am (est).

It got so bad myself and a coworker did our own online election coverage, calling them as we saw appropriate.. that means no calls until at least:

(a) 25% reporting with a Huge difference
(b) 75% reporting with a 4-5% difference
(c) mathematical illimination

When the media has given out 200+ votes per, we still had only had about 345ish votes handed out.. a huge difference. Then we added 'speculative' votes. If bush wins, I will say this, we called it PERFECTLY ;)..
