Most voters will never look at W without thinking - There is the guy that lost the popular vote and still won the election.

Have you noticed the popular vote in the last few hours? It is now a spread of less than 100,000. No big mandate to Gore I would say.

On the contrary, in my opinion most people are going to look at this election and the field of candidates and think:

'You know if they had just dressed up a bunch of monkeys in suits and power ties, we could have voted on them and got the same results, a for the most part---statistically equal vote.'

You take it however you want, but we will now have gridlock for the next 4 years.

Here's to somebody fielding a real candidate in 2004!

The first line in George Ws biography will refer to his election by the electoral college after losing the popular vote.

The line will continue: "he went on to win the second term by a landslide".
