Scumbria,
RE:"We need Internet balloting. Gore can set that up for the next election."

very true, he can go to college in the next four years and get a degree in programming. Then maybe he will be taken seriously about inventing something.

SCUMbria - Re: 'We need Internet balloting. Gore can set that up for the next election.'

Hopefully, Gore will have the next four years "free" to work on just such a system.

Scumbria, <We need Internet balloting. Gore can set that up for the next election.>

I think Gore ought to work on making the computers in the government hack-proof (especially those in the Pentagon, the CIA, and nuclear research laboratories) before even thinking about "inventing" Internet balloting.

Besides, Gore wants to tax the "rich," including businesses who help advance the Internet he allegedly had a hand in creating. He thinks government can spend the money better than Amazon.com, or AMD (now that AMD is paying taxes), or Cisco, or HP, or IBM, or Intel, or Microsoft, or Yahoo, or every single other high-tech company out there.

This is an example of a guy whose belief system is centered within the beltway. I have no doubt that Gore is very intelligent. But I've seen many, many people who apply their intelligence to the wrong beliefs. And those beliefs aren't something that can easily change with a Harvard degree or with a lifelong experience of working in politics.
