I have a problem with gay marriage.

A clear majority of Americans support my position, as clearly evidenced by the Clinton Administration's unwillingness to make this one of their issues for the past eight years. They do not want to touch it.

I would be willing to compromise on the issue of a financial and legal union that had no pretense of "marriage". I think that this is important and should be considered.

Why should it bother me, but from the description of the filth I just read about, I would not want to live there. Plus it's cold in the summer.

You should have qualified your vote statement though rather than try to mislead the reason for the vote.

Thought you believed in being up front, sorry I should not have asked such an open question.
