>>"Heck of a mandate to do the things the republicans are about to do to this country. "<<

jmac, if what you said is true, why was the vote so close? If this Bush dude is so bad, why did he garner any votes at all..... in fact, how did he win in the primary election? Are you saying roughly 1/2 of the voting public wants to do horrible things to this country & cast their votes accordingly?

BTW, I checked.... the sky is not falling in Western PA.

Do you really think a bunch of jewish folks were going to vote for Buchanan.
No, I don't think so. But, you know what? It does not matter what I think. What matters is whomever they voted for, for whatever reasons was in their minds and their hearts. The only people who know are themselves and their God. That is what the democratic process is all about, based on a secret ballot.
If they made a mistake, if they think they voted for the wrong person, is regretable, and I do sympathize. But I believe it is more important to support our democratic process and our constitution, than to allow individuals to revote after they have of their own free will entered a voting booth and cast their ballots. And I believe this no matter if the individual is jewish, black, white, or polka dot colored.
And I will believe this EVEN IF the recount reverses the election and Gore wins. In that case, even though I support Bush, I will wholeheartely support Gore and his new administration.
