It usually leads to feelings of distrust later in the term. I would love to see a candidate stand up and say "If you don't like what I'm about to say I don't care", and then follow it up with some semi-reasonable ideas. Steve, How many people do you know who can handle a really honest debate? If politicians ran like you suggested, no one would get elected. We like hearing everything is grand and that the politician will do everything he/she can to insure our happiness. It sucks but it works. ted
