Carl, Read Again: Election officials said 19,120 ballots in the county were nullified because they showed more than one vote for president."

Over 19,000!

Now look at the picture of the ballot and remember that FL law requires the hole to be to the right of the name.

Also notice that Pat's hole (no dirty remarks now) lines up with the word Democrat fairly closely.

Remember that most did not expect the Buchanan hole to be on the left (boy, is that a setup line!), since FL law says it has to be on the right.

My inference is that by FAR the majority of those 19,000+ meant to vote for Gore and punched Pat rather than the other way around.

Then they realized they made a mistake and punched Gore.
Over 19,000 did this?!

Now why they didn't say anything I don't know. My question is why it wasn't caught right away and votes recast. If people were confused and suspected they messed up why didn't they say anything?

Anyway, That's maybe 18,000 more for Gore

How would one argue that incompetence is a reason to give them a second chance at voting? There is nothing un-understandable with that ballot. We've heard so much about it, because the news media has noting else to report.
