The double voting demonstrates that many people tried to correct the error of a mistaken vote for Buchanan. Some people reported asking for a new ballot.

Others reported that they thought, wrongly, the "correction" was adequate to correct their vote.

Further evidence that the Palm Beach ballot did not allow many voters a fair opportunity to register their vote.
