Yes, the world is a very shitty place, and those who have been on the shitty end of the stick tend to fling shit all over the place, even though most of it ends up right back on them. I would like to drop this whole thing, largely because it reminds me of too many arguments with my mother, whose arguments are yours, almost verbatim. I will mention first, though, that those who view causes with world-weary cynicism are ill positioned to respond to the effects of those causes with indignant outrage.
