Traders' Mental Disease:

"...every tom dick and larry know what we feel by the emotions we throw out on the message boards. This is why I truly respect individuals like yourself. You open yourself up to destruction. And yet at the same time you put yourself out on a limb to help your fellow man. You should be applauded. Unfortunately many cannot handle the fact that this market is tanking. We are stuck in a horrible rip curl. No matter how much we fight it, it only gets worse..."

Your sentence says it all: It's the "fighting it" part that is the main problem. The only way it can get better is if you give up the fight.

I don't see this as opening myself to destruction at all. The fundamental problem with people is that they cannot accept the world as it is. They insist that things only go one way, and this defies the laws of Nature. They should learn to just "go with it", and stop flying into 50MPH headwinds.

The other day, someone called me and asked if I have "secret methods" of trading that I do not reveal. I said NO. Everything I know, every trick I have ever learned from the market, is shown in the Trader's Master Class. However, it will not make people successful traders if they simply refuse to follow the Laws of Nature and trade against the trend.

William Eckhardt, one of the greatest traders living today, had a lot to say in this regard, and no matter what I say, no matter how much hand-waving, people simply refuse to stop trying to picking tops and bottoms, and therefore, can never make it as traders in the long-term due to this mental disability. During my 12-year career, I used to watch clients destroy themselves daily, and eventually came to the conclusion that this is what they truly want. They want to be right, even if it's just for once, rather than to make money. I have accepted this as a fact, and now see it as the sole reason why 10% of the traders make all the money. Everyone else, by definition, HAS TO LOSE, but of course, they are not forced to lose. They serve up their own heads on a plate. How can we refuse?
