Florida has a history, as recent as 1997, for having an election invalidated by the court. It was the Miami mayoral race. So I'd guess a precedent exists for a re-vote of some kind.

In the wonderful and uncanny world of What-If:

Here's an interesting scenario. Let's say it can't be resolved and, thus, gets thrown into the new House for the presidential selection and the new Senate for the vice presidential selection. The House would select Bush by a margin of two or three votes; and the Senate, with Gore's vote as the tie-breaker, could possibly select Lieberman.

Bush-Lieberman anyone? (LOL)

So what next? Further press scrutiny of Bush's DUI brings out new evidence of more Bush scandal. Lieberman, as vice-president, teams up with several cabinet officals who sign on to declare Bush unfit and Lieberman becomes president. Scary as it is, a provision exists within a Constitutional Amendement to allow for such a scenario to exist. How 'bout that one, folks! (LOL)

They'll certainly make a movie out of this election.

From what I understand the Gore camp just said they were not filing in court, but would support other suits. Doesn't seem their 70+ lawyers see a strong case.

I see requests for recounts in the north and possibly the west on the horizon.
