CB -

Things you don't seem to be hearing about the election. -

Although Florida must recount by law for differences of less than 0.5%, the news services seem to have quit updating the overall national popular vote although Gore's advantage is about 0.2% and was apparently falling when they quit.

With all the talk of the electoral college, etc, no one ever seems to note that Bush is carrying about 60% of the States.

Regards, Don

What Does Level 1 Mean?

The NALS found a total of 21-23 percent - or 40-44 million - of the 191 million American adults (defined as age 16 or older) at Level 1, the lowest literacy level. Although many Level 1 adults could perform many tasks involving simple texts and documents, all adults scoring at Level 1 displayed difficulty using certain reading, writing, and computational skills considered necessary for functioning in everyday life.

A is for Alabama--

Percent at level 1 or 2 - 57

I think you need to be very careful with this argument. And homework never hurt anyone.

I lived in Fla for 8 months this year, and I have never seen a state with more pin-heads(except Los Angeles). My parents own a Condo and all the old people want to do is start fights and sue each other. This is a big game to those senior's in FLA makes em feel young again. I have seen deranged seniors make waitresses cry with their poor behavior(youd think that close to g-d they would know how to behave). So I am not surprised by these senior's making a fuss over their own stupidity. If you lived in Palm beach county and were retired and 70 wouldnt you? What else is there to do?
