The analysts have been bearish on the sector and particularly on CSCO due to valuations for a while now. The only way this changes is CSCO continues to perform... eventually the analysts will have to eat some crow. Of course the opposite is always possible... the analysts can keep up the negativism and eventually I suppose.. if they do it long enough they'll be right. After all, now that CSCO will do $30B in revenues this year the top line will have to slow... Chambers said $50B by 2003 and if CSCO does 50% growth for the next two years they'll be there in 2002 - ahead of John's schedule. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... And if CSCO beats that schedule they're sure to get downgraded because "it can't go on forever" <--- the tune of 2000 re: CISCO.
