That's a splashing... errr, smashing idea.

dodger,

If the cell phone market grows anywhere near to what's being projected -- it's pretty obvious that this country is going to need a hell of a lot more URINALS !!!

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About those homes with no urinals. I admit that one of the requirements of my dream home will be a urinal. I'll pre-empt the obvious coming from Frank that there will also be an exit sign. :)

Per your suggestion, I did some research on the parent company of American Standard - NYSE:ASD.

finance.yahoo.com

They have strong revenue and earnings streams, but no apparent advantage over their competitors in the urinal market. With a ttm p/e under 11, I'd characterize them as a value play.

I think we might better add the patent holder of the recent discontinuous innovation in urinals - hands free flushing - to the W&W Portfolio.

"Spot a trend early and then get in front on it."

(Bold emphais my own)

Dodger,

This is especially good counsel when speaking of urinals, but that aside, I fail to see the value of adding American Standard to the W&W list.

There's no compelling IP involved here, and there's also a low BTE. Pottery kilns, even porcelain kilns, are definitely low tech devices, and can even be made using locally available mud...often done in third world countries, even in primitive cultures eons ago.

Culturally, especially in the western cultures, I doubt that wives would find these acceptable since they are designed without lids. No lids means nothing to males, but women find them important, especially when closed. In high end structures, urinals might work since these would have his and hers facilities. In lesser homes, installation of a male-use only urinal would be viewed as "sexist" and therefor politically incorrect.

However, even if your suspicions about a tornado forming are correct, wouldn't it be better to opt for a company like Sloan Valve which makes the automatic flush device that could be installed in any brand urinal? The B2B opportunity via Sloan surely out weighs the B2C opportunity with American Standard. JMHO.
