If you assume that Bush is the winner of the EC and Gore of the PV. Since it has not happened in a 100 years, would it be terrible to suggest that they should form a mixed government, Bush as president as Al as VP. (the VP gets the tie breaking vote in the senate that could be 50/50). After all the BS about uniter not divider etc. this might regain the voters trust and confidence, both could bow out of the political process after 4 years and let the ususal Dem v Rep to start again.

Doesn't matter anyways, the Courts will hear it, the lawyers will rape.

But what can they do? Can they really redo the vote? It is an incredible conundrum. While there may be valid arguments citing problems with the ballot, if you redo the vote for that county alone, you are basically giving them the right to elect the leader by themselves. That is a very different context from simply voting in a swing state on the same day as everyone else. I think an argument can be made that if you redo the vote in that county, you have to redo it for the whole country. Whether that argument will win or not, I don't know, but I think that argument can be made.

I think the one thing that's safe to say is that there will be some very unhappy people no matter how this is resolved. It is a test of our system's integrity to be able to make the best of a bad situation like this.
